Mary Ann Palermo’s and Tom Teeley’s “The Word” Re-imagines a Lesser-Known Beatles’ Song with components of Pop/Rock, with a Jazz Vibe
THE WORD
“The Word,” a lesser-known Beatles song, was produced in 2024 by Tom Teeley, with Mary Ann Palermo singing. “I feel that Tom and I have presented a whole new life to this song in this innovative take,” says Mary Ann. “The Word” was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and recorded with Lennon on lead vocals. It was first released on their 1965 album Rubber Soul. The new version has done well on the major streaming platforms and has been added to a number of curated Spotify playlists. “The Word” will be one of the selections on the upcoming album There’s a Place: Beatles Re-imagined.
